Cosmetic dermal fillers are safe, tissue-friendly and natural and can help to restore elasticity to skin in order to fight against signs of aging.
How Dermal Filler treatments work
Dermal fillers can be customised to rejuvenate multiple areas, and is dependent on the results you want. They can be injected to provide subtle enhancements to your features or restore deep volume in your skin.
The dermal fillers treatment typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes.
In the dermal filler treatment, we use a fine needle syringe to inject Hyaluronic Acid, and target the ‘problem areas’ found in aging skin. Hyaluronic Acid can also give skin a healthy glow, as it holds vast amounts of water in the skin, which helps with smoothing out the skin to diminish fine lines.
Dermal fillers in contrast to other injectables will plump and smooth the areas to reduce the appearance of the fine lines and wrinkles.
What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are made up of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). This is a polysaccharide (a large sugar) which is found naturally in the body. The highest concentration of HA can be found in the skin, in the top epidermal layer, and creates the smooth and elastic properties of young skin.
HA is also essential in keeping skin moisturised, as it can hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water. However, the body’s natural ability to produce HA decreases with age, which causes sagging skin, wrinkles and fine lines.
Am I suitable for Dermal Fillers?
During your dermal fillers consultation, your ‘problem areas’ will be discussed, and you will be able to choose what kind of results you want to have a dermal fillers treatment tailor-made for you, if you are suitable for treatment.
As each person is different, and has different areas they want to enhance, each treatment plan will be different and results may vary.
Dermal fillers can target:
- Smile lines, or nasolabial lines
- Marionette lines
- Vertical lip lines
- Lip enhancement
- Cheekbone enhancement
- Facial contouring
Dermal Fillers: Results & Recovery Time
Dermal filler treatment smooths out wrinkles, acting as smile or forehead line fillers. You will be able to see some results of the treatment immediately after your session, and see an improvement of skin volume over the following two weeks.
Results of dermal fillers can last from 6 months to a year, depending on your treatment and the ‘problem’ areas targeted. The procedure is simple and pain-free, however some patients may feel mild discomfort from the thin needle.
Recovery time from dermal fillers treatment is minimal, however you can expect to see some redness, minor swelling, and minor bruising at the needle site. This should reduce within a few hours, but in some cases it can take up to 2 days for the swelling and redness to be completely gone. The little downtime following the procedure ensures a quick return to your daily activities following the treatment.
*Treatments are bespoke for every individual and results may vary.
